John McDonald, director of technical strategy and policy development for GE’s Digital Energy business, joins us to discuss what a modernized grid is and the benefits that come along with it. In Part 2 of this series, he will discuss different technologies that can be implemented into a modernized grid, as well as the steps electric utilities can take after a disaster occurs.
