It was recently announced that the cause of the devastating boardwalk fire in Seaside Park, New Jersey, last week was the result of water-damaged electrical wire. It is possible that the integrity of the wires may have been affected by Superstorm Sandy. NEMA Assistant Vice President Paul Molitor joins us to discusses safety issues related to water-damaged electrical equipment, as well as smoke- and fire-damaged electrical equipment.
